Visit-Access to the Museum

Visitors can get to the Museum by car:
• It is approximately 20 kilometres to the southeast of Xanthi.
• It is approximately 50 kilometres to the southwest of Komotini.

The airports “Alexander the Great” in Kavala and “Democritus” in Alexandroupolis, the Egnatia Highway and the old road network facilitate access to these two cities. Finally, there are frequent bus services (KTEL) to Abdera, especially in the summer season, during which they go as far as the archaeological site. For individuals who wish to take their private cars, there is a great number of road signs to the museum.
The Archaeological Site of Abdera is located 6 km south of the modern settlement, while the Archaeological Museum is located within the settlement at the eastern end.
